Contemplative Prayer

In this space, we seek to grow closer to God through contemplation. The contemplative tradition seeks to experience God, not through things, but through emptying ourselves, our minds of all things. Centering prayer is one prime example of this type of contemplation, as well as the fourth stage of Lectio Divina, contemplatio.

Purpose of the Space
To grow closer to God through the practice of contemplation.
Space Start Date
April 20, 2015
Welcome Text
Welcome to Contemplative Prayer. In this space, we focus on experiencing God more deeply through contemplation. If you are interested in this practice, then please join us!
Format - How does the Space work?
We will have the opportunity to pray together at the same time everyday, depending on our own local prayer times. In addition, we will share our own experiences of contemplation together through a group blog. Each person will have opportunity to add different ways of contemplation for the group to experience, as well as share their own insights they have discovered in their practice.
