New Spaces

In this action space, we seek to get involved in proclaiming a faith that is reconciled to the basic tenets of science, particularly with cosmology and evolution. In this space, we support initiatives that reach out with this basic message, whether it be putting on seminars, sending out speakers, or putting forth information in support of individuals and local churches.

In this space, those who seek to follow Christ and share a passion for traveling and seeing the world will meet up and share their experiences. Travel opportunities can be explored, both with others in the group and in discussion format. Those seeking to connect traveling with spirituality are all welcome here.

In this space, members share funding requests for their particular callings, ministry ideas, and immediate needs. Through crowdfunding, each member has the opportunity to raise these funds. This space is for both those seeking funds and those giving funds. These funds may be for a family emergency, a new project, a particular calling you want to explore, education, volunteerism, and more.

In this space, we offer our skills to others in the body of Christ as they have need. We list our skills and others, who have also listed their skills may ask us to use those skills for a particular task. These may be local in nature, or it may require travel, or it may be done online. More broadly, these might be abilities or knowledge sharing as well.

In this space, we will have civil Christian discussions about hot social, economic, political, or theological issues. Although vast differences may exist between those on both sides of the debate, it will be recognized at the outset that these are brothers and sisters in the body of Christ with whom we are differing. So, these are family squabbles that must be couched within a space and a community of love.

In this space, we seek to create an agape feast online for all of our members. Through video, audio, and text chats, through videos or photos, we seek to share a meal, online. We are a global community, so a face-to-face experience may not be possible, but through creative uses of local foods, we might be able to share a virtual online agape feast.

Here is a site that might be used for someone called to pro-bono pastoral care within the iklesia community. It would not be therapy or specifically licensed counseling. However, it would work like a counseling site in that a person could request an appointment and the pastoral care worker would interact them through a video chat, an audio chat, or a text chat.

In this space, peer counselors will have the opportunity to do deep listening, talking and prayer with those who need help. This is not formal or licensed counseling in any way, simply a way for those who need a help on particular life issues to receive informal support from those within the community.

In this space, we "visit" those who need pastoral care through online support. Those joining the group will come alongside those who have requested online visits for prayer and encouragement. Where possible local visits will be made, but as this is a global group, we may not always have a local member for a face-to-face visit.
